I found the father and son rolling their bodies against the ashes to prevent the flies and other insects to come in contact with their bodies. They offered to share their food with me, which consisted of aseeda with shermont, porridge made from sorghum with a sauce made from dried meat. There was not any tea available and the father would drink only water or a mixture of cows' blood and milk. I refused to drink as politely as I could.
