'Pacita and Her Friends' series consists of 39 paintings created over a three-month period in 1985, done with oil and aquarelle on paper mounted on board. These 6o" by 36" and smaller interpretations portrayed Pacita's fondness for her many friends in Manila. The paintings are playfully spontaneous portraits whose slightly disguised subjects are sometimes carefree and other times are serious. Pacita captured them in different moods, experiences and attitudes with a richness of pattern, texture and color.
