e-Book: Refugees of Cambodia

Paintings by Pacita Abad, Text by Jack Garrity

Pacita had always believed that an artist has a special obligation to remind society of its social responsibility.

She said that her Cambodian Refugee series was the most important of all her socio-political work, as it depicts the faces and feelings of the displaced Cambodians she encountered during several trips to the refugee holding centers.

She learned so much on her trips to the camps and expected misery, but there was so much more beyond that.
