Pacita Abad: A Brush with Lions

This video profiles the painting of Simba, Pacita's colorful lion, as part of a public art program in Singapore, "SingArt: a brush with lions", involving more than 50 artists and was held in January-February 2004. Simba is one of many of Pacita's public art projects, which also include 'Masks from Six Continents' at the Washington, DC Metro Center in 1990-1992, the painting of Alkaff Bridge over Singapore River, and 'Celebration and Joy', a three-panel large abstract painting with her signature colorful assemblage, which is hung at the Singapore Expo, among others.
