Pacita Abad: Masks and Spirits: with Silverlens Galleries I Art Basel OVR:20c (28-31 October 2020)
"Masks and Spirits", a solo show of five large trapunto paintings, is held at Silverlens Galleries Manila starting October 17, 2020. The artworks are part of Pacita Abad's Masks and Spirits, a monumental series that spanned two decades, from 1981 to 2000. They were inspired by her extensive travels across the African continent, Oceania, and the Philippines. In these respective regions, Pacita acquainted herself with various tribal cultures that inspired her to translate her observations and experiences into art.
